Update from Dr. Ahlemeyer

January 22, 2021

Dear MTF Parents & Students,

Happy 2021! I hope everyone is well. I am so excited to officially welcome everyone back to 2nd semester on Monday, January 25 when our In Person Learning option resumes. We are so pumped and looking forward to seeing all of the students again in person. I am so appreciative how our parents, staff, and students have handled our Remote for ALL plan the last 3 weeks. You should all be commended. Our 1st semester was extremely successful and a big reason for that is we all did a good job following the FIVE: Wear Masks, Social Distance, Wash Hands, Sanitize Surfaces, Isolate when Sick. We need to double down on those expectations 2nd semester as our region lessens restrictions to allow more normal participation in our schools. If we want opportunities for our kids to expand we must rally together and hold ourselves and each other accountable!

On another note, now that we have e-Learning plans and have experience with Remote for ALL, please be prepared due to weather to switch to a Remote Learning for ALL day on short notice. Instead of calling the traditional "snow day" that has to be made up at the end of the year, we will now be calling a bad weather day a Remote Learning for ALL day and students need to be on the ready for announcements from the principals and teachers regarding expectations as those days will count towards attendance. While we still have a lot winter left and you should always be prepared, it looks like Monday/Tuesday of next week we might have an ice weather event. I hope by mentioning this that does not happen now, but please be on the lookout for announcements if the weather looks to cause dangerous conditions.

That is all for now. I continue to be so proud and humbled to serve you as superintendent and I wish all of us a blessed and successful 2nd half of the school year! Have a great weekend.

With Maroa-Forsyth Trojan Pride,

John
