Meet Joy
Hello! My name is Mrs. Hurst, and I've been a teacher for quite some time. I graduated from Millikin University and began teaching second grade at Our Lady of Lourdes for three years. I took a break to raise my three children, but once they returned to school, I began subbing for all the schools. Eventually, I was offered a full-time position as the 6th and 7th grade English teacher. Teaching is truly my passion, and I feel grateful to be able to do it every day!
When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. My daughters are both swimmers, so most of my evenings are spent at the Y watching my girls swim or working on my homework for graduate school. I also enjoy working on projects and taking walks with my furry friends, Pepper and Belle. It's important to have a balance between work and personal life, and I'm grateful to have such wonderful people and activities to share my time with.
