Meet Melissa
Teaching is a passion of mine! I am excited to work with you and your child! It's going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures and I can't wait to see what the year has in store for us! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Martin. We will be celebrating our 24th anniversary next month! We have a son, Mitchell, who is 22 years old, and a daughter, Makayla, who is a junior at ISU. She has chosen business management as her field to go into.
I was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. I went to Stephen Decatur High School and graduated from Millikin University in 1998.
This will be my 17th year teaching at Maroa-Forsyth Grade School. Before that, I taught 3 years of third grade in Decatur Public Schools. After teaching for three years, my husband and I decided to start a family, so I subbed for 6 years in Decatur and the surrounding area. I absolutely love teaching third grade! It is my mission to install a love for learning in my students.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to a great year together!
