Meet Shelly
Hi! My name is Shelly Upperman. I proudly graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where I majored in elementary education with a minor in zoology. I taught first grade for two years at Giant City School before moving back to the Decatur area. I started teaching in the Maroa-Forsyth School District in 1999. During that time, I also earned my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Illinois State University. I’ve taught third, fifth, middle school English and now seventh and eighth grade literature for the district. I am a proud teacher, parent and resident of the Maroa-Forsyth district. I look forward to having your student in my class.
